Park development: RPDA seeks alliance with Summit Hills

Cross River State Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Recreational Park Development Authority, Mokafo Ekpo Okon has met with the Managing Director of Summit Hills Estate, Mr. Joseph Edet, seeking support for the creation of a recreational park at the Summit Hills Estate, saying that Summit Hills is the best location in the State capital to site a Park. 

Mokafo Okon who stated this when he paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director at his office in Summit Hills,  emphasized the need for Cross River State as a renowned tourism destination to have an Amusement Park where individuals and families can go to relax, have fun and bond. 

He said that the gains of both establishments collaborating for the development of an Amusement Park, is enormous as it will not only boost the tourism sector but will also create employment and serve as a huge revenue generation point for the State. 

The Managing Director, Summit Hills Estate, Calabar, Mr Joseph Edet, expressed optimism at the prospective project, saying that the concept of the Recreational Park Development Authority, to develop a park at the Summit Hills, is in tandem with the master plan of the facility, which covers convention, residency, wellness and golf. As the 'wellness' shows that Summit Hills takes recreation, seriously.

While assuring the Authority of the Estate's support for the Park project, Mr. Edet stated that the possibility of a Public- Private Partnership with potential investors, should not be ruled out by the Authority, as plans are progress in this regard.
