TINAPA NOT MORIBUND AS IT RECIEVES FACELIFT

By: Achiane Adams, CRS-MOI Officer reporting from Tinapa

In furtherance of the commitment of the current Tinapa management to restore the iconic image of the cradle to both business and leisure facilities in Cross River State, the Tinapa Free Zone and  Resort, is undergoing a series of facelifts in the bid to attract investors.

This was made known during an interview with the General Manager, Operations,Tinapa Free Zone and Resort, Dr. Francis Ekom, while on a project tour of the facility.

Dr. Ekom noted that the need to revive the Resort's economic status and Governor Ben Ayade's "Intellectual Money" mantra, where thinking outside of the box yields unimaginable results, are the driving forces behind the facelifts.

He called on the private sector as well as corporate bodies to invest in Tinapa and enjoined people to have a re-orientation about Tinapa Resort as it is not moribund, adding that the new look is better and easier for businesses to thrive in the Resort.

The General Manager specially appreciated the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, Mr Eric Anderson, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Asuquo Ekpeyong, Jr. and Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Mfon Bassey, for their support towards the realization of the facelifts already given to the Resort.

Dr.Ekom also commended the selfless effort of G-FACTOR Initiatives International- a youth oriented Non Governmental Organization centered around youth discovery, development and deployment into the different spheres of society; for partnering with the Resort in the provision of manpower and other materials to seeing that the first phase of the facelift is successful.

In her response, the Vice President, G-FACTOR Initiatives International, Chidera Vyda Onyemeram, thanked the management of both Tinapa and G-FACTOR, saying that the need to contribute in the facelift process is practically turning lemons into lemonade based on the fact that Tinapa meets the attributes of what an ideal atmosphere should have when meeting the needs of young adults.

Painting of facilities such as the emporia, welding works at the Water Park, pruning of shrubs, beautification works, construction of basketball and  volleyball pitches, amongst others are part of the facelift activities on going at the resort.
